Privacy policy
This page explains, in plain terms, exactly what Wordle Solver does and does not do with your data. The short version: there is no account system, your guesses are never sent to a server, and the only optional data collection on the site is a cookie-free analytics beacon and an anonymous thumbs up or down on the tool itself.
What this site is
Wordle Solver (this domain) is an independent word-puzzle helper tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the New York Times or Wordle. It is operated as a small, single-purpose utility site: a solver tool on the homepage, plus two reference pages covering starting-word strategy and the underlying word lists.
Your guesses never leave your browser
The core tool works entirely client-side. When you type a letter into the grid or click a tile to change its color, that action is handled by JavaScript running in your own browser tab. The two word list files the solver checks candidates against are loaded once, as plain text, the same way an image or a font would load; after that, every comparison, every filter, and every ranking happens locally on your device.
No guess you type, no color you set, and no word the tool suggests is transmitted to any server operated by this site. There is no backend endpoint that receives your puzzle state, and nothing about your specific Wordle session is logged anywhere.
Local storage: what is saved on your device
The solver saves your current grid, the letters and colors you have entered, to your browser's own local storage, a small amount of data the browser keeps on your device between visits, similar in spirit to a cookie but not sent to any server automatically. This is what lets the tool remember where you left off if you close the tab and come back later.
This data stays on your device. It is never read by any server, never included in analytics, and is removed automatically if you clear your browser's site data, or immediately if you click the "Reset all guesses" button on the tool itself. No other personal information is stored this way; the only thing saved is the puzzle grid state.
Analytics
If enabled, this site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, a cookie-free analytics service. It does not set any tracking cookie, does not build a cross-site profile of visitors, and does not use any persistent device identifier. It reports aggregate figures, page views, approximate visitor counts, general performance timing, without identifying individual visitors. If analytics is not actively configured for this domain at the time you are reading this, the corresponding script simply does not load at all.
The feedback widget
Below the tool, a small "Was this tool helpful?" prompt lets you send an anonymous thumbs up or thumbs down. Clicking it sends only two pieces of information: which page you voted on, and which button you clicked. No cookie, IP address, or device fingerprint is stored alongside that vote. A note is saved in your browser's local storage purely to stop the prompt from asking again on the same device; that note contains no personal data.
The "Give feedback" link next to the vote buttons opens your own email client with a pre-filled address; nothing is sent unless you choose to write and send an email yourself.
Server requests and basic technical logs
Loading any web page necessarily involves your browser making requests to a server, in this case Cloudflare's infrastructure, which hosts this site. Like effectively every website, baseline connection information (such as IP address and request timestamp) passes through that infrastructure as a normal part of serving the page and is subject to Cloudflare's own standard operational logging, used for security and reliability rather than for tracking individual visitors on behalf of this site. This site does not separately collect, store, or review that information itself.
Third parties
This site does not sell, rent, or share visitor data with third parties, because it does not collect meaningful visitor data to begin with. The only third-party service in use is the optional, cookie-free analytics beacon described above, provided by Cloudflare as part of hosting this site. No advertising network, tracking pixel, or third-party script currently runs on this site. If that changes in the future, for example if a paid advertising slot is added, this page will be updated to reflect it and to name the specific network involved.
Children's privacy
This site does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, regardless of age, since it does not operate an account system and does not require any personal information to use the tool. The word puzzle content itself is general-audience and not directed specifically at children.
Your choices
You can clear the locally stored grid state at any time using the "Reset all guesses" button on the tool, or by clearing your browser's site data for this domain through your browser's own settings. Because no account exists, there is no login to delete and no server-side profile to request removal of; your browser's local storage is the only place any tool-specific data lives.
Changes to this policy
If the data practices described on this page change, for example if a new feature starts collecting information that was not previously collected, this page will be updated to describe the change plainly, in the same style as the rest of this policy, rather than moved or hidden behind a version history.
